At the end of 1990s, the higher education in our country came into the mass period.Mass period of higher education will inevitably bring some problems in quality.Quality is the precondition and fundamental guarantee that can realize the continuous development of mass higer education. Therefore, it became the focus of the whole society that how to keep the balance between the quantity increase and the quality advance. Analyze the factors that influenced the qulity of the mass higher education in our country and innovate the system of the quality assurance of higher education in China become the very important tasks.Since 1980s, the problems of higher education became one of the most focused themes in the developing courses in most countries. Whether the developed countries or the developing countries, they all try to establish a system of quality assurance of higher education that can be acceptabe, reasonable,fair and square, authoritative, transparent and scientific. Every country has a different quality assurance system of higher education, no matter in its formation and development, basic framework and the peculiarity of function. Compared with other countries, the quality assurance system of higher education in Britain has the higher level in the theory and practical study, and has brilliant characteristic,which plays an important part in the socity and the development of higher education in Britain.The quality assurance system of higher education in Britain is one of the most complete systems in the world. In Britain, there are different quality assurance systems of higher education in different periods. In 1990s, the "double-track" system had been used. But after 1990s, the "sigle-track" system had been established. After a series of evolution, the system is formed gradually, which is multi-aspect. Presently, the quality assurance system of higher education in Britain include the inner part and the outer part. The inner part refers to the self-control of the management in the higher education institutions. The outer part mainly include the review and audit of the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), and other review by other institutions. Now the system in Britain is an integrity one, which each part act their own roles, and this new system made up the deficiency of the old one, so it is more improved and more suitable for the prictice of the higher education in Britain.I choose the quality assurance system of higher education in Britain as my research object, which base on the reality in our country and the reality in the world. After the 1990s, the quality assurance system is complete.The quality assurance review is developing quickly in our country, but the subject review is at the very beginning. It is very usefulfor us to learn some successful experience from other countries, and establish a system suitable for our county to promote the development of our higher education.There are two research methods in my paper. First is literature research. I refer to literature data and give a brief introduction about the quality assurance system of higher education in Britain. I translate the relative content on the website of QAA. I read a lot of books and thesises about the relative research. The second method is comparative analysis. Though comparative analysis, I find the useful part that can be use in our country's construction and development of the quality assurance system of higher education.
