Since the end of 1980s, the undergraduate teaching of America suffered a lot of criticism from society. Research universities paid more attention to scientific research and graduate student, so they became the worst "disaster area" of undergraduate education. American government and many social organizations published some reporting of undergraduate teaching's problem, since the 1990s. Many research universities began to take some effective measures actively after that time.The reformation of undergraduate teaching is the center of this paper. The research start with the analysis of the reason of undergraduate teaching in American research univerties. The author analyzes many macroscopical and microcosmic factors, then point out that the structure of economic, the vicissitude of culture, the development of science and technology, utilitarianism, the system of evaluation and the conception of academy are reasons of undergraduate teaching's problem. At the same time, the author point out that teacher, curriculum, mode of study etc are keystones of undergraduate teaching's problem. Then the author researches some reformational measure detailed.Finally, the author compares Chinese undergraduate teaching with American. In this part, through Internet the author collects a mass of data about undergraduate teaching. Comparing these data with official data, the author makes a right conclusion about undergraduate teaching in china. Learning from the experience of undergraduate teaching's reformation in America, the author brings several feasible and operational advices about undergraduate teaching's reformation in our country.
