The Study On Undergraduate Scientific Research Ability Cultivation Of Research University In America

American research universities, called as "the top universities in the world", have turned out a lot of excellent talents for the political need and economic development from inchoation to present. Recent years research universities tried their best to improve quality of undergraduate education. As an important reform measure, training scientific research ability of undergraduates increasingly attached importance and gained the great progress.Firstly, this article expatiates two concepts and their feature, "American research university" and "scientific research of undergraduate", and describes the history evolution and development phases of cultivating undergraduate scientific research ability. Based on its meaning, it analyzes and teases the conditions from the dual perspectives of theory and practice. And systematically probes into the cultivation system of undergraduate scientific research ability of American research universities, such as teaching and learning mode, curricula setting, learning style, management agency and training system. Some existing problems and development foregrounds are pointed out. Finally, it compares American research universities with our country's on scientific research training and expects some illumination on undergraduate education of Chinese research universities.
