In the 21st century, we are in the information society, therefore, information and knowledge become the core of social resources, so the acquisition and use of information seem more and more important. And Physical Education in normal universities is facing the severe challenge, in order to meet the requirements, we should cultivate students' ability of rapidly acquiring and selecting information, distinguishing accurately the right from wrong as well as the good from bad, creatively processing and managing information, besides, we should treat students' ability of acquiring and using information and technology, that is, cultivating students' information literacy, as such basic abilities as reading, writing and calculating. At present, there are much study about information literacy in China and other foreign countries, especially about the theory and training manners of information literacy for teachers and students in primary and middle schools, nevertheless, there is no systematic, complete and comprehensive study about the information literacy of students majored in sports in normal universities.In this thesis, on the base of much reference information, the author employs such research methods as questionnaire, consulting many documents, comparison and contrast etc. to investigate the current situation of students' information literacy in the normal universities of Shandong province, then probes into the education of students' information literacy, and thoroughly puts forward the strategies of improving such education, including emphasizing the function of libraries, encouraging students to grasp the theory of constructivism, developing a modern teaching method, renewing the major curriculum system of physical education, strengthening the education of information and technology; starting relevant courses; establishing the excellent applying and studying environment of information and technology, attaching importance to the cultivation of students' ability of information instructional system design, actively organizing the study based on internet resources, enhancing the construction of internet moral education. The conclusions are as follows:(1) Information literacy education is not just a pure skills education; it also includes fostering students' information structure, research ability, critical thinking etc. to adapt to the society, which would make them have the permanent consciousness and ability for study.(2) It is necessary for university students majored in sports to have information literacy education, because it is the new requirement for sports education in normal universities in the Information Age, the requirement to suit fundamental education reform, the requirement to foster the "new sports teachers", the requirement for sports education reform in normal universities, and the requirement for the self-development of normal university students majored in sports.(3) According to the questionnaire made among students majored in sports in Shandong province, the author finds that there are such problems as inadequate consciousness, inadequate information, incompetent ability and weak information morality etc. among them.(4) The reasons for students, who major in sports in Shandong province, lacking of information literacy are as follows: there is no adequate attention to information literacy education because of the traditional teaching concept; the curriculum is not rational to some extent; because of the lack of teaching guidance, sports students cannot use information adequately, they are short of information morality and knowledge.(5) After the systematic analysis of the current situation and its causes of sports students' information literacy, the author puts forward the essential strategies for improving such situation, including paying much attention to the function of libraries, propelling students to grasp constructivism and develop modern teaching thoughts, renewing the curriculum system of sports education, reinforcing the education of information theory and skills, establishing the excellent environment for the application of information technology and study, emphasizing the cultivation of students' ability of information teaching plan, actively organizing the study on the base of internet resources, hastening internet moral education. These strategies would provide beneficial references for improving information literacy education.
