Community education developed from Britain and America in the late 1800s. It has popularized in the western developed countries in the 1900s. Since 1970s, community education has become a focus of education research in many industrialized countries. Community and community education have also turned into a social issue and been attached importance to in China with the deepening of the reform in politics, economy and education field since the middle and late 1980s. . It has been publicly acknowledged that a life-long education system and a learning–based society should be built on the basis of the popularization of community education. It is of vital necessity and reality to probe into community education theory and pratice research.The present thesis is a case study which chooses the Community education in Licang District, Qingdao City as the object of learning. The paper analyzes the status–quo and existing problems in the community education in Licang District and proposes some measures and development modes on the above analysis.The paper mainly concerns the theoretical research in community education and the investigation experimental research of community education within a certain area. It mainly employs the research method of consulting document, interviewing, experience induction and questionnaire.The theoretical part endeavors to fully reflect and summarize the up-to-date research results in community education. The investigation experimental research chooses the Community education in Licang District, Qingdao City as the object of learning . It investigates the following aspects : community education organization system and operation mechanism, education contents and forms, resource-utilizing , residents attitudes and learning needs. The paper also analyzes the status–quo and existing problems in the community education in Licang District. It proposes development modes to establish the community life-long education system with the characteristic of Licang District , to promote the self-development of the resident and the mutual development of the community construction on the above basis.
