Canada is a country that lies in American continent and has a vast territory with a sparse population. In Canada the task of better training of its domestic skilled manpower and the task of acculturation and utilization of immigrants is shouldered by its institutions of higher vocational education—the community college. The community colleges of Canada inherit the training mode and conception of American community colleges. Combining with their specific situations, community colleges of Canada have successfully formed an education system of characteristics and gradually developed into the community education centers. On one hand, they provide the industry and commerce with lots of skillful talented personnel; on the other hand, they improve the general educational background of the public, and therefore receive wide recognition and support from the society. The Canadian government plays a leading role in the formation of the community colleges, and the direct participation and close cooperation of the guilds and helps from all walls of society during the running of community colleges enable them to acquire funds, facilities and faculty from various ways, greatly enhance the competitiveness of their graduates, and thereby form a constructive educational circle.
