| with the rapid development of tourism industry in China Over the past thirty years, higher tourism vocational education also attained the large-scale development, but this fact that the traditional mode of teaching and learning emphasizes theoretical knowledge and ignores practical ability, has resulted in lower comprehensive capacity of higher vocational tourism graduates and the dislocation of supply and demand in the tourism market. Contemporarily, with the rapid development of the social economy and optimization and upgrading of tourism service industry, tourism market has changed dramatically the requirements of employees` professional quality and competence structure.This phenomenon raises a new challenge for tourism higher vocational education`s development, which constantly absorbs and learns scientific teaching ideas and advanced teaching mode, and trains more high-quality tourism personnel with the comprehensive ability.The Competency-based theory is a quite popular guiding ideology in the world`s vocational education system, and is highly consistent with training objectives of tourism higher vocational education. Based on comprehensive analysis of practitioners` occupation ability, this theory combines perfectly books knowledge and practical skills in the teaching process, so that students can grasp comprehensive capacity demanded for a specific job. Task-driven teaching mode is different from the traditional knowledge-based teaching model, because the teaching tasks in the real professional as the main line is through the whole learning activities which helps students to apply knowledge and skills learned in the classroom flexibly to the professional position. The Competency-based theory and task-driven teaching mode has intrinsically linked, both advocate students` dominant position; and highlight the training of comprehensive vocational capacity. At the present stage, Practical application research about the task-driven teaching mode under the guidance of the Competency-based theory practice in higher vocational tourism courses is relatively less, so taking the special research perspective makes this paper full of innovative meaning and research value to a certain extent.This study has conducted a in-depth exploration of the related research to build the tourism higher vocational curriculum task-driven teaching mode under the guidance of the competency-based theory with higher vocational tourism students for the study subject, the tourism higher vocational curriculum`s task-driven teaching model for the study objective and the competency-based education theory for the research perspective, This paper contains five parts. The first chapter is an introduction of the research background and significance, research review, research content and method, and innovation of this paper. The second chapter introduces some concepts of the competency-based education and task-driven mode and elaborates the theoretical basis of this study. The third part makes comments of the task-driven teaching mode applied to tourism higher vocational courses. The fourth chapter presents the design principles and three steps of higher vocational tourism curriculum`s task-driven teaching mode with the perspective of the competency-based education and the last part is the case analysis research of this teaching model applied to a specific course “Service and Management of Food and Beverage â€. |
