In view of sorts of defects in our current school education, especially the elementary and middle school education, many wisdom and courageous scholars have raised a charming and influential slogan: education should return to the life world. "The life world" has become one of the dominant discourse in educational reform now. Its introduction has manifested the educational people-oriented consciousness and the life meaning and paid great attention to human's dynamic formation process. So it is an attempt for education to return to the original state in getting rid of the scientism and utilitarianism fetters.The paper explores the dialectical relationship between life and education and states that education originates from life, for life and above life based on the predecessor's theory. It is concretely manifested by the three sections of paper first part, life :the source of education; happy life: the ultimate goal of education; education: a possible life. From this we can infer that education and life rely on each other.(The first part of the thesis) But the present education especially school education has fell into the mire of scientism and utilitarianism. It forgets to question the value of "how life should be" and loses the primitive meaning of "nurture, so that the child for perfection". Therefore, education returning to the life world and retrieving the long-lost spiritual home—life significance are the boundary way for education moving towards the original state.(The second part of the thesis) Philosophy itself is the knowledge of loving wisdom and it pursues the difference among people's thinking mode. After education returning to the life world, people transform the thinking perspective of regarding educational world, i.e. transforming essentialism thinking of instrumental education to generative thinking of life educational philosophy. The generative thinking puts forward the appeal to education activities for holism, experience, democracy and opening.(The third part of the thesis) The last part of the paper is the prospect forecast of life educational philosophy which represents the future development direction of educational philosophy.
