The thesis is aimed at the present closed disadvantage of senior composition and the situation that students' composition utterly lack of substance and personality, following the same pattern. The argument that we must conduct open composition teaching is put forward in the thesis.The thesis specifies the limit of concept and explains the intention expounding the basis of the theory and reality that we must carry out open composition teaching. It brings up the principle of carrying out open composition, namely the principle of emotion, the principle of main part, the principle of opening and the principle of teaching students their aptitude. The thesis constructs the teaching pattern of four steps open composition under the network circumstance. Firstly, set up circumstances and provide information. Secondly, search subjects and collect materials .Thirdly, arrange materials and compose articles. Finally, show words and exchange and evaluate the ideas . The thesis also discusses the method of carrying out senior open composition from different aspects which are open composition teaching aims, teaching contents ,teaching procedures, expressing forms, correction and evaluation, etc. Finally the thesis summarizes the practical achievements of teaching research about senior open composition. It also brings up the solving strategy that we combine composing articles freely with composing articles following the same pattern, combine writing articles in class with writing articles after class, combine multi-way dialogue with one -way teaching and combine making oneself known with the following the same pattern.
