With new changes of situation at both home and abroad, new breakthrough in science and technology, fast development of higher vocational education and new changes of contemporary university students, influenced by the parochialism of utilitarianism and inherence pattern of empiricism in personnel training in colleges and universities of science and technology, the moral education work of the higher vocational colleges and universities faces with many new problems and the research of moral education await to be strengthened urgently.Following the thought of discovering, analyzing and solving a problem, this paper argues in three parts. In the first part, on the basis of individual talks and questionnaires in nine key universities of science and technology in China, the author has drawn a basic conclusion of the situation of current moral education work and moral education of students in universities of science and technology. In the second part, the author analyzes reasons of the problems existing in the moral education in universities of science and technology. Analyzing from five aspects: traditional education mode of talents in science and technology, realization of the importance of moral education, contents of moral education, team construction of moral education and operating mechanism, the author manages to probe into the deep-seated cause of problems existing in the moral education in universities of science and technology ail-roundly and thoroughly. In the third part, based on the cause formation analysis, according to problems existing in the current moral education in colleges and universities of science and technology and characteristics of students' thought, behavior and mentality, applying various moral education theories and combining personal experience, the author unfolds discussion from five aspects: carrying out the education mode of talents in science and technology majoring in being human ,cooperation and scientific moral education, insisting on priority of moral education, building up and perfecting leadership structure and operating mechanism of "personnel education"; changing work notion of higher vocational education, realizing "five combinations"; bringing important effects of Party and Youth League organizations in higher moral education into play sufficiently; discovering new methods in team construction of higher moral education ;bringing comprehensive force of moral education into play. The author tries to put forward route to the validity of moral education in universities of science and technology pertinently.
