The important new subject in Chinese language and literature teaching--- oral communication teaching-- was put forward in Language Curriculum Criteria for Full-time Compulsory Education (Trial Edition) in July, 2006, opening a new chapter in Chinese oral communication teaching. Thus the topic, oral communication teaching, has become the main point concerned by the schools, families as well as the society. It also attracts many Chinese language teaching staff and experts to explore its theory and practical meaning. However in the practical teaching process, proper attention hasn't been paid by the education departments, teachers, students and their parents. Oral communication teaching is still in a confused situation. Therefore, this essay probes into this subject from the aspect of the significance of oral communication competence for the society and the present situation of oral communication competence teaching in China, trying to diagnose the problem existing in Chinese oral competence teaching in middle schools'Chinese language and literature courses, then giving advice to improve the current state from the teachers'point of view. They are as follows: In the first place, teachers have to give the students appropriate instruction; then students ought to practice their skills in the real social life; moreover students should be given varied comment and feedback in different ways. These actions can make the three processes--"teach""practice""assess"as a perfect union; in consequence the students can improve their oral communication competence and meet the requirements of modern society. |
