Language is a tool of communication to human beings, and oral language plays a basical and generalrole in the communication. With the economical development and the move of civilization in currentsociety, oral communication becomes more and more important in international social communication. Orallanguage, as the widest language behaviour in daily life, occupies an important place in Chinese culture.Not only is it an important tool of communication, also it serves as a link between each other to keep upfeelings and promote friendship, meanwhile, it propels the harmonious society forward and carries on thenational culture. Oral communication occupies an important place in Chinese teaching in senior middleschool, but this point is not be approved by the greater part of teachers.Put writing training above oral training, such phenomenon must be reversed in the trend of educationaldevelopment. Educations department has already published some rules in succession to devote muchattention to the oral communication teaching, to reform the method of teach and study in class and addcontent on oral communication training. These rules make definite and refine the ruquirement of oralcommunication ability in standard of curriculum, point the way of developing the oral communicationteahcing out forward and draw up a blue print for education. Chinese teaching materials are made up ofreading, writing and oral communication again.But even so, owing to the examination-oriented education influence, no matter listening and speakingor oral communication are still in overlooked position. Among teaching practice, most teachers pay lessattention to oral communication. Some of them just make students do some reading or writing substitutedfor oral communication practice for insufficient class period, some of them ignored the whole pastcompletely. Such long-standing problems result in awkward situation, that is many student are incapable ofcommunicating with each other. Therefore, it is necessary for us to carry the oral communication teachingforward. This paper is mainly directed against the training and research on developing the oral communication ability. It is going to talk about the significance of oral communication of capacity-buildingto make a balance on written ability and oral ability and then help the high school students to promote theability of interpersonal communication.
