The development of the world has stepped into information-based times. The modern education technology of which the computer and network are the core are also introduced into classroom. This will influence the current situation of mathematics education greatly. The developed countries and regions make out detailed demands to the application of information technology in mathematics curriculum standard respectively. With the popularity of computer teaching in our country, computers come into classroom, meanwhile, the new demands to students'information attainment are put forward in senior school curricula standard. The authority of education also thinks highly of computers'influence to students'learning content, learning style and teachers'teaching model, and regards education technology as powerful tool for improving students'ability of learning mathematics and solving problem, and meanwhile, wishes students'learning style could be changed, students'learning interest could be enhanced. The auxiliary mathematics teaching software are rich in variety, but there are no adaptable ones. Combining the teaching practice, this thesis explores the application of information technology in senior middle school and concludes that the new mathematics teaching model with the assistance of PowerPoint adapts to current most school's multimedia teaching.Adopting the research methods of quantitative and qualitative, this thesis firstly inspects the current situation of function teaching with the assistance of multimedia by questionnaire survey and on-site survey methods, and based on above, introspects conventional teaching with the assistance of multimedia. Then, according to the features of PowerPoint and function teaching, this thesis details the related definitions, puts forward the function teaching model with the assistance of PowerPoint and analyzes teaching cases. Finally, this author does comparing experiment between conventional multimedia teaching model and the new teaching model pointed out in this thesis and justifies the conclusion.The innovation of this thesis lies in putting forward the new function classroom teaching model with the assistance of PowerPoint in senior school.Using PowerPoint to teach function and make function figure is the feature of this thesis. PowerPoint is a kind of software flat applied widely in senior school mathematics teaching, other software flats are not popular or not easy to apply. Except for analyzing the problems existed in the process of function teaching with the assistance of PowerPoint, this thesis also poses new teaching model: (1) Drawing up learning preparation plan; (2) Making out PowerPoint curriculum plan; (3) Learning by learning groups; (4) Creating problem condition and posing cases; (5) Autonomous and discussion learning; (6) Penetrating into function knowledge; (7) Applying function knowledge and solving cases; (8) Combining network guiding and course plan demonstration, self-learning after class.By analyzing the comparing experiment, it is discovered that the new teaching model can improve students'interest of learning function knowledge, master and understand function knowledge, applying function knowledge initiatively. Obviously, the new model is superior to conventional multimedia teaching.
