The high-quality school-based training with modern education technology is the crucial approach that can improve teacher's teaching level rapidly. Comparing with other kinds of training methods, the school-based training has many advantages, which is most adaptive to the present situation of advanced vocational colleges in China. However, China's school-based training with modern education technology in advanced vocational colleges is now in the birth stage, so many defects exist. Yet research in this field are still lack of the systematical and empirical literatures in China's school-based training with modern education technology in advanced vocational colleges. With the case of the Weifang Science and Technology Vocational College, this paper attempts to make a deep investigation about effects that school-based training with modern education technology may have on teachers in the colleges, in order to summarize the defects and problems and provide some valuable suggestions. The main creativeness of the paper is that we use the empirical method of case investigating and analyzing data from Weifang Science and Technology Vocational College to find objectively the problems now existing in the training in that college.When we surveyed the situation of school-based training with modern education technology in Weifang Science and Technology Vocational College, we adopted two ways, i.e., investigation and discussion. We researched five aspects through investigation, which included contents, teacher's quality, methods, assessment system and weak points of the training. Our investigation was complemented a lot by the discussion with teachers in that college. In our opinion, the greatest problems in the school-based training of that college lie in three ways. First, the teachers were lack of objective consciousness for the training and not aware of the importance of modern education technology. Second, the leaders in that college didn't think highly of the training. Third, big defects also existed in the process of the training. For example, patterns of the training were dull and had little content's correlation with teaching. According to those problems, we give respectively different and operational suggestions for the college leaders, training organizations, trainers and teachers under training, in the wish of helping to rise the level of the school-based training for modern education technology in the College. Our research may also help to improve the efficiency and quality of the training, what's more, it may fits the needs in vocational education development and give other researchers in this field a very valuable case study in school-based training.
