With the unceasingly expansion of enrollment scale in higher vocational normal colleges and development of teaching reform, the improvement of higher vocational normal students’educational technology capability is imminent. According to the analysis of the teacher selecting and recruiting information in different places, it’s not difficult to find that higher vocational colleges currently undertake responsibility in parts of professional training for basic primary and secondary school teachers, nevertheless, the disparity between their students and those of normal universities on preschool education background and employment post leads to significant differences for higher vocational college normal students in their own professional development seeking and future career development planning, which consequently directly affects their attitudes toward education technology application.Primary and secondary school teachers’ educational technology capability enjoys more attention and is considered as one of the core skills that must be mastered for primary and secondary school teachers in professional development with the continuous progress of education information. Modern Education Technology, a public course, as one of the important causes for improving normal students’ education technology ability has been attracting many universities and vocational colleges’ attention in recent years, making them join the teaching reform exploration on this course. In the new round of teaching reform, the tendency that curriculum reform which is believed to be the first step and the most important step in the implementation of teaching reform takes the place of teaching reform becomes more and more obvious. Based on the public course--Modern Education Technology, and applying the competence-based education thought, this thesis will put forward some reform strategies about this course from the four dimensions---curriculum objective, curriculum content, teaching strategies and teaching evaluation to explore educational technology ability’s training road with the characteristics of higher vocational education for normal students.This paper mainly adopts the literature methodology, case study, investigation method. First is the investigation by questionnaire and interview, then a case study on the "Modern Education Technology" public cause system of one higher vocational normal college. And the research questions are confirmed. Then combining the competence-based education theory, this paper will put forward some main aspects about the teaching reform on this public course, the aspects are as the follows:to adjust and set the teaching objectives with the curriculum theory, to select and organize the course content with the teaching material theory, to formulate and implement the teaching strategy with the teaching theory, to reform and improve the teaching evaluation with the combination of learning theory.There are mainly five parts in this paper. The first part is an introduction that mainly introduces the research background, significance, content and methods; the second part is about the theoretical basis which mainly summarizes to competence-based theory and the Enlightenment for teaching reform of public course of modern education technology. The third part is status survey and analysis on the public course of Modern Education Technology’s present situation and the normal students’ educational technology ability level with the methods of questionnaire and interview. The fourth part, a core part, is the thinking and reflection on the above investigation and application results, and then some strategies are put forward on the teaching reform for this course. The last part mainly discusses the existing problems of this study during actual research process and the further research tendency.
