The issue discussed in this thesis belongs to new geographical curriculum. The method of comparison is used. With the theories of geographical curriculum and comparison education, and the research methods of literature and comparison have been used, geographical curriculum standard of China's compulsory education and the seventh social educational curriculum of South Korea have been compared. Besides that, the newly issued geography textbooks of the two countries have also been compared. By doing so, the peculiarities of the seventh social educational curriculum of South Korea and its newly issued textbooks have been found Out. Some conclusions and suggestions have been put forwards. The conclusions are as following:1. Curriculum settings: the curriculum belongs to different branches of academic study; the inverse proportions of the curriculum settings are all low; curriculum setting starts from different grades;2. Objects of geographical curriculum: the object of geographical curriculum of South Korea is of more pertinences and more stepping up, and it puts more stress on skillful objects. The course and method of China are of its own features.3. System of the textbooks: the structures of area geography are different; the appendixes of the textbooks are different; the small columns in South Korea's textbooks are of more varieties.4. The contents: the textbooks in both China and South Korea put much stress to foster the students consciousness of ecology, of whole-globe and of persistent development; these two countries pay different attention to the content of maps; the studying methods of local geography are different.5. Pictures Comparison: There are some pictures in both textbooks of the two countries; much attention has been paid to the settings of the pictures, and the pictures are of many different categories; the densities of the pictures in these two kinds of textbooks are similar; the inverse proportions of maps in these two kinds of textbooks are different; the effects of the pictures are of some differences.
