Since the 1980s, with the drive of China's reform and opening upand the process of modernization, great changes have taken place inChina's social structure. At the same time, people's ideas and valueshave greatly changed. Especially, young people's ideas of love andmarriage have changed much. Their ideas of partner choice, love andmarriage tend to be diverse and complex, which reflects the changes ofsocial system, values and cultural traditions to a large extent.Usually, fast economic development promotes young people to migrate. As the front point of China' reform and opening up and the number onein economic development, Shenzhen attracts large quantities of youngfemale labors from other areas. In this thesis, female labors from otherareas refers to young women who are non-resident below the age of 35 inShenzhen and work legitimately in various sectors in lack of techniqueand expertise, hereinafter refers to female labors. Now there are abouttwo million labors from other areas in Shenzhen. According to the dataof the fifth census, 70%of young female labors from other areas are inthe marriage age. Since Shenzhen adjoins Hong Kong and Macao, femalelabors' marriage ideas are inevitably influenced by those of nong Kongand Macao, which causes the result that the female labors' marriage ideasshare not only the generality in mainland but also the specialindividuality in nong Kong and Macao. The special geographical positionand social condition can be regarded as a miniature in which the marriageideas of young female labors from rural areas are gradually changing underthe reform and opening up background. Studying this miniature isrepresentative and inspiring. In order to obtain the firsthand materials about the marriage ideasof female labors, the author investigated those towns where workers areintensive by interviewing workers and sending questionnaire. 500questionnaires were sent, and 488 pieces were collected, the returns-ratio of the questionnaires is 97.60%. 10 workers wereinterviewed. The materials from this survey are representative and true. This thesis includes five parts. Part One introduces the basiccondition of the female labors interviewed. Part Two introduces thepresent marriage ideas of those female labors. Part Three analyzes thecharacteristics of their marriages. Part Four is about the causes of theproblems and difficulties of their love and marriage. Part Five putsforward some countermeasures to solve these problems. Most female labors in Shenzhen come from poor rural areas. They arein lack of knowledge and skills. They have to work in the labor-intensivefactories, live in the environment full of the same sex. The practicalproblem that female labors are unfit to the new relationship, pessimistic, misanthropic and weary dues to long-time working, passive andpsychologicallyunbalance dues to marriage is the synthetic reflectionof series of complex factors such as social system, social structure, social status and social equality and so on. Through analyzing thecondition of female labors' present working, living, emotion and socialdifferentiation, the thesis tries to probe into their desire for love, their attitudes to marriage and their pursuit of life significance.Through study, the thesis aims to urge the society including thegovernment, people and social organization to pay more attention to femalelabors' benefits and to form new ways to deal with their problems. Therefore the study is helpful to promote Shenzhen's modernization andurbanization, helpful to Shenzhen's stability, development and theconstruction of harmonious Shenzhen. It is also good to study the youthproblems and education countermeasure during the social transition.
