Communication has been the concern of all humanity. Theory of Communication holds that communication is the basic way of human existence and the basic form of human activities. As one of the human's fundamental spiritual needs, communication becomes the mutual influence and mutual creation among the living creatures. Studying the student-teacher relationship in colleges and universities under the theory, we shall find that the relationship, in essence, is a special communicative relationship. This study plays a very important role for the development of higher education, for the construction of a new communicative relationship between teachers and students in colleges and universities.With the guidance of the theory of communication and other disciplines as philosophy sociology, psychology, information science, this thesis is addressed to a multi-angle and multi-level research of the relationships between college teachers and students. The thesis, in time, proposes the question of constructing the communicative relationship between college teachers and students.As for the question of construction, the thesis analyses the history and the current situations of the student-teacher relationships. The conclusion drawn is that the communicative relationship between college teachers and students promotes the development of students,teachers and helps the completion of educational tasks. Communication is the content and main form in this relationship. As for the concrete questions within the construction, four aspects related to the communicative relationship are discussed, namely, its form, its main characters, the operational principles, the terms of construction.
