| On the basis of data analysis, case interviews and pilot study, this researchincorporates studies from experts and predecessors to draw up a questionnaire on thecurrent state of moral education in secondary schools in Macau. The research also madeuse of statistics to test the questionnaire. Moreover, through the investigation of beliefson moral education among secondary school teachers and students, this study probes intothe current state of implementation of moral education in Macau, and how different entitiesview and assess moral education and its influence.The results show:(1) The view on moral education by teaching staff and students is a multi-dimensionalpsychological construction; there are certain differences between the views of the twogroups. The multi-dimensional psychological construction on moral education bysecondary school teaching staffs include the following four factors: the pervasiveness ofmoral education, the notion of moral education, external means of moral education andemotive aspect toward moral education. Students' construction is a five-dimensionalconstruction, which includes teachers' professionalism on moral education, influentialfactors of moral education, emotive education on morality, teaching methods on moralityand practicality of moral education.(2) Through statistical analysis, it can be determined that these two questionnaires complywith the requirements of psychological surveying. (3) Such factors as type of school, history of the school, seniority of teaching staff, andgrade level being taught significant or marginally significant affect teachers' overallview on moral education and its four factors.(4) Such factors as history of the school, type of school, and class size significant ormarginally significant affect students' view on moral education and its five dimensionalfactors. |
