Aims: The contemporary educational evaluation shows concern for"improvement"rather than"proof", gives less prominence to the assessing and selecting function of evaluating, improves teaching based on the updated feedback information, size up the difference, and suit the instruction to the students'level. In the optional callisthenic course of the general colleges and universities, the traditional evaluating method is just to determine the student's grade according to his sporting skills in the final stage, which prevents giving free rein to the student's creativity and impedes the development of individual personality. For this reason, we probe to reform the evaluating pattern of callisthenic course in order to provide a better service for the students and teachers.Methods: In the first place, we analyze the structure and theoretical base of the developing evaluation theory of assessing student's achievement in optional callisthenic course of general colleges and universities and then prove them through experimental method. In the last part, we analyze the effect on the student's physical quality caused by such evaluation theory by means of questionnaire, mathematical statistics, and logical analysis.Conclusion: Through the theoretical exposition of the new evaluating theory, the analysis of the experimental result indicates: in the general colleges and universities, the implement of the new evaluation theory cause an positive effect on the student's physical quality, the conclusions are as follows: 1. the evaluation theory is the specification and application of the developing evaluation theory, an effective combination of processing evaluation and final evaluation, and multivaries the evaluating subjects, makes the evaluation penetrate the whole teaching process and gets the feedback information in time. Assessing through individual parameter against the evaluation brings an encouraging effect on students and enhances the impartiality.2. the new evaluation theory assesses the student's class performance in an encouraging way, and gives free rein to the student's creativity in the final exam, which stimulates student's internal studying motivation and real affection for the callisthenic course, achieving the goal of setting lifelong sporting idea.3. preparing activities, leading exercises and creative arrangement evaluation bring the subjective function into full play, improve the student's ability of self study and increase his self-confidence; make the students gather material initiatively for their active callisthenic exercises.4. creative arrangement evaluation stimulate student's creating potential, make them enjoy the pleasure of success in creative arrangement, and increase their enthusiasm in creating by an effective way.5. the self and mutual evaluation in the new theory makes the students understand, administer, stimulate and improve themselves, and learn to conduct self-evaluation according to certain standards. The new evaluation cultivates student's self-confidence, and becomes the motive power of lifelong studying and exercising. 6. most students in the creative arrangement group experience the way of communicating and cooperating with others, and can communicate with members in other group on friendly terms. The experimental class can increase self-confidence through sporting exercises and get rid of the sense of inferiority by excising in a daring way.
