Reading aloud is a phonatory reading form. It is a language activity conveying the contents of texts, artistic conception, feelings and thoughts by means of rhythmed sound.Teaching students to read aloud in the junior Chinese classes plays an important role in developing their sense of language, in improving their listening, speaking, reading and writing, and in developing their intelligence, humane qualities, interest of learning Chinese and their mandarin levels. The present teaching status of reading aloud in the junior middle schools is, however, not optimistic. Many teachers think it easy and do not pay it serious attention. They do not offer students enough time to read aloud in their teaching and their instructions on how to read aloud are not adequate, which results in students'poor reading quality, or totally giving up reading aloud. On the basis of the analysis of the significance of reading aloud and its present teaching status, the researcher offers some corresponding countermeasures of the malpractice of teaching reading aloud in junior Chinese classes, with the hope that more and more colleagues attach greater importance to and pay more serious attention to it.
