Entering the 21st century, with the rapid development and wide spread scientific technology in every field, society puts forward more requirement to graduates cultivated by higher education .Teaching is playing an ever more significant role in higher education. In order to cultivate more higher quality graduates which have the ability of information literacy and innovation which are required by society, university must take the reform of teaching into account. As an attempt of the reform of teaching, research-based teaching can not only train students'abilities of acquiring knowledge but also make students form the abilities of raising and solving problems which are innovative and practicing .All those abilities are needed by society. Information technology is the sole of the age of information. It has the unique advantages such as information source globalized, multimedia-oriented expressing information, several sensors-oriented accepting information. To some extent, these advantages can enough help teachers to carry out research-based teaching. So, as an innovation of the reform of higher teaching, carrying out research-based teaching by Information technology is an effective, catering for the age requirement, cultivating creative graduates method.This paper, beginning with the change of statuses of the teachers and the students in university teaching ,then introduces the concept and characteristics and theories of the research-based teaching .After that, based on the analysis of the problems when our university teachers apply information technology into research-based teaching , it proposes some strategies, such as building up modern university ideas; reinforcing the teachers'information literacy; improving teachers'abilities of putting research-based teaching into practice; changing the methods of study and carrying out research-based learning actively; establishing scientific evaluation system; managing the teaching flexibly. Then taking a Chinese text, shangshi, from university curriculum for example, the paper explores the process of how to carry out research-based teaching under the environment of information technology.This paper may be divided into four parts:The first part, the age of information and the reform of university teaching. Mainly introduces the typical characteristics and the requirements of the age of information, points out that the teachers and the students must change their statuses in university teaching.The second part, based on the explanation of the concept and characteristics of research-based teaching, introduces the main theories that sustain the implement of research-based teaching under the environment of information technology.The third part, after introducing the unique advantage of information technology when used in teaching, discusses the problems when our university teachers apply information technology into research-based teaching, and then proposes some strategies.The fourth part, on the base of the analysis of an example, summarizes the whole paper, and then points out the flaw and imperfection of the paper , at last prospects the next deep research.
