With the new turn of national reform of basic education curriculum to the full implementation stage, the new curriculum system and education ideas give new challenges to all chemical teachers. So, how the chemical teachers develop their own professionalism becomes one of the focus points.This paper generalizes the existed research findings and investigates the concept of teachers'professional development. Furthermore, it analyzes and discusses chemical teachers'professional development stages and influence factors from the pedagogical, psychological and the theory of human's development aspects. And it gives empirical researches by questionnaire survey and practices.This research says: the professional development of a chemical teacher should experience"study adaptability""mature practices""summary, recollection, re-improvement"and"educational expert"four stages. Important educational events, such as, long-term educational recollection, open class and excellence selection class, complete professional knowledge, profound daily life chemical and social chemical knowledge, and the attendance to off-campus (provincial, civic and prefectural) teaching and researching activities are all the key elements which influence teachers'professional development.
