In the key period of the transfer of Chinese mathematics normal education, the experience and the wisdom that came from the history are valuable. Considering Chinese mathematics normal education, specially, the Chinese mathematics normal education that from the establishment of the people's republic of China is meaningful to the development of Chinese mathematics normal education and the choice of scientific way.The study of the history of the department of mathematics in Beijing Normal College is a case of the development of mathematics normal education between the periods of the establishment of the people's republic of China to the end of the Eighties' in last century. The process of that development is typically meaningful to illuminate the common characteristic of Chinese mathematics normal education in this period. It includes three parts; preface the analysis of the archives of the history of the department of mathematics and summarizing the laws of mathematics normal education in the department of mathematics and pondering. The latter two are the main body of this paper.The first part brings forward the question and introduces the sense of this study, the literatures that were referenced in this paper and the research methods generally.In the second part, the development of mathematics normal education of the department of mathematics in Beijing Normal College between the Fifties' to the Eights' are analyzed in this study at the precondition of faith. The foundations of the study are 164 volumes originality archives of the department of mathematics in Beijing Normal College. The study also consults many research literatures, and it is supplied in virtue of the research method of interview. The content that were analyzed in the study are the general situation of the development of the department of mathematics, the foundation and the development of curricular system, mathematics teaching exercitation and the expansion of the teaching and science's research. During the contents that were mentioned above, the second are the emphases of this part.The third part did a farther analysis of the characters of mathematics normal education on the foundation of the second part. It includes two parts; one is the summarized of the laws of mathematics normal education, the other is the reflection of mathematics normal education. The former summarizes four factors that impact the Chinese mathematics normal education between the periods of the establishment of the people's republic of China to the periods of the initial stages of the reformation and open to the world, which are the background of politics, the development of society, and the progress of mathematics and mathematics education. It indicates that the four factors above are indispensable that insure mathematics education developing healthily. The latter is also the latter end of this study, it points out three characters of mathematics normal education between the beginning of Fifties' and the ending of Eighties' in the last century, which are inheritable, transplantable and developmental. Next, puts forward some suggestions of the development of mathematical normal education in the future from historical angle.At the end of the study, it indicates that the department of mathematics must confirm its object, renovate the educative notion and the curricular notion, change the educative manner and the teaching method; meanwhile, it must combine the reformation of teachers' training with the circumstance of society, the training before teaching with the training after teaching. It must full integrate intellective education and innovational practicable special education and pedagogical courses together. Finally, construct new type mathematics normal educative system that fuses pedagogy technicality and creativity. It subsists and develops, because it suits to the situation.
