The mathematical thoughts and methods is the essence of mathematics which combines mathematics knowledge with mathematical ability,it can make students analyze and solve problems from a mathematical point of view.The spring college entrance examination has been implemented in Shandong province since 2012.In order to make the students pass the spring college entrance examination,mathematics teaching has been required strengthening in secondary vocational schools.As a result,we should pay more attention to mathematical thoughts and methods in mathematics teaching to meet the needs of secondary vocational education.To review the research literature,there are fruitful research findings in the mathematical thoughts and methods by many mathematicians,mathematics educators and mathematics teachers in all over the world.But the research findings that can be applied to mathematics teaching in secondary vocational schools remain inadequate,so secondary vocational mathematics teachers should try their best to do more research in this field.Through summarizing the findings of the research literature,the author defined the mathematical thoughts and methods,and made out the suitable principles for infiltrating mathematical thoughts and methods.Two questionnaires were designed to reveal the current teaching situation of the mathematical thoughts and methods in secondary vocational schools.By the result of the teachers' questionnaire,in secondary vocational schools,it was generally accepted that the mathematical thoughts and methods was mainly used in the process of knowledge formation and very conducive to master mathematics knowledge,so mathematics teachers put more and more emphasis on the mathematical thoughts and methods.In daily teaching practice,mathematics teachers try to apply the mathematical thoughts and methods to their class but they meet many difficulties: some teachers worried they couldn't complete their teaching task,some thought their energy was limited,and even some were afraid of there was no teaching effect.In secondary vocational schools,mathematics teachers haven't seen infiltrating mathematical thoughts and methods as a part of teaching when they prepare for their class,and of course there is no definite teaching model for the mathematical thoughts and methods.By the result of the students' questionnaire,themathematical thoughts and methods in teaching had made some achievements,the students in Grade 3 could master the mathematical thoughts and methods better than the students in Grade 2.But there were also many problems,the students couldn't master the mathematical thoughts and methods entirely — the concept couldn't be understood correctly and the application was not ready to be put into practice expertly.Therefore,secondary vocational school teachers should explore actively,and strive to find effective ways to infiltrate the mathematical thoughts and methods in their teaching.On the basis of the results of the questionnaire,the author made out three strategies.The author also selected three mathematical thoughts and methods which were the most widely used,and analyzed their meanings and applications in each part of mathematics teaching,then give some detailed suggestions for mathematics teaching.Meanwhile it provided a reference for the application of the other mathematical thoughts and methods.Furthermore,two mathematics teaching cases of secondary vocational schools were chosen to show how to infiltrate the mathematical thoughts and methods in each procedure of mathematics teaching and provide a suitable teaching model.
