The rapid development of information technology not only brings about profound changes to the college education, but also imposes higher ability requirements upon the college teachers regarding the application of educational technology. The most effective approach to improve the abilities of the college teachers to apply the educational technology is the educational technology training. However, the effectiveness of the current educational technology trainings offered to the college teachers is not good enough.The task-driving instructional method has been proved to be greatly effective in the instruction of information technology courses for the primary and secondary school students and computer courses for the college students, in which the task serves as the guide, the instructor plays a dominant role, while the students serves as the focus. This study is designed to explore the process and approach of applying task-driving instructional method into the educational technology training for the college teachers.This paper has adopted several research approaches, such as questionnaire, literature review and action research. In the literature review, the principles of educational technology training for the college teachers are summarized, and the feasibility of applying task-driving instructional method into the educational technology training for the college teachers is analyzed. The action research conducted in Changzhou Institute of Technology has verified the effectiveness of applying the task-driving instructional method into the educational technology training for the college teachers. In addition, this paper has concluded the problems found in this case study based on the implementation effectiveness and the feedback information so as to provide guidance on the educational technology training for the college teachers in the future.
