With the trend of economic globalization and implementation of the strategy—make the country prosperous and strong through science and education, which have led to the arrival of the lifelong education era, and the quality of the teaching profession has been referred to the unprecedented importance. At the same time, the influence of a nation's foreign language education on the country's development has attracted the attention of the worldwide countries. A better request about the professional quality of the foreign language teacher was also put forward by this prospect. This paper sets the English teachers in secondary schools as the goal for the study to explore its particularity and development law, which is based on the domestic Chinese context. Meanwhile, it aims to instruct the growth of the professional quality of the teachers at domestic secondary schools through drawing on the relevant experience and the achievement of the Europe and United states. The paper can be divided into 6 parts:Part 1, the present research situation about the English teachers' professional quality at secondary schools was talked greatly. The conclusion is more work about this topic and its own features have to doPart 2, a thoroughly comparison was shown to analyze the particularity and necessity of researching the professional quality of the English teachers under the Chinese backgroundPart 3, several successful experiences of the Europe and United states were analyzed and the enlightenment to the domestic English teachers also was presentedPart 4, the specific structure of the English teacher at the secondary school was established under the Chinese contextPart 5, the means, which appropriate the Chinese context, were presented to promote the professional quality of English teachersPart 6, the inadequacy of this paperThe main questions were answered in the paper,1, what are the particularities of the English teaching at the secondary schools under the Chinese context?2, which professional qualities are suit the domestic students and teachers factually? 3, which means suit to the Chinese context can be adopted to the promote the professional quality?The inadequacy of the paper lies in the insufficient conclusion about the exploration of the professional quality of the English teachers at the domestic secondary schools, however, which is a much more complicated work involves several relative fields. So it is a wish for the author to continue the exploration during the future career.
