Teaching media refers to the media which is used in the process of teaching, and its role in the teaching is disseminating the teaching information. People used the language to transmit the course content in the earliest teaching, Gradually, the teaching media has been developed from language to the textbook, projection, slide show, broadcast, sound recording, sound film, computer and so on. With the development of society, the teaching media shape is always in the change, but teaching media's teaching position has never been wavered. People have placed the great expectations to multimedia teaching since it emerged in 1980s. The object can be described by Multimedia teaching through multi-positions, multiple perspectives, and different forms, Multimedia teaching expandes the traditional teaching method; The multimedia teaching provides rich resources to the student, it expandes the capacity of classroom knowledge greatly, some phenomenon can not been imagined by students and some objects can not be directly displayed, which can been displayed by Multimedia teaching .The multimedia teaching promoted the teaching reform, not only causes the teaching media to have the change, but also promotes the innovations in ducation idea, educational model and so on. However, the multimedia teaching has not achieved the expected teaching effect.The multimedia teaching may promote the teaching, which is not mean that so long as the multimedia teaching is utilized the teaching can be promoted. Many factors affect the multimedia teaching effect, different multimedia equipment itself has the different function, Multimedia equipment itself may have certain influence to the teaching, But the people who uses the Multimedia equipment has certain influence to the teaching more importantly. Many factors affect the multimedia teaching effect, and teacher's multimedia teaching ability is one of influence factors. Teacher's multimedia teaching ability is affecting the multimedia teaching's development, teaching's implementation and the teaching effect seriously. The Study of the teacher's multimedia teaching ability is need by the time and is to develop the study of teacher specialized ability. It is also to improve the teacher quality and student development.Firstly,The autor discusses the realistic background of this study, the course and the subject's meaning . and the autor analyzes the research situation in domestic and international, the research technique, research mentality and innovation spots. The autor describes the concept of multimedia teaching, the emergence of multimedia teaching, the development of multimedia teaching as well as the advantages of multimedia teaching. At the same time, the author elaborates own idea about teacher's multimedia teaching ability, and have analyzed the relations among multimedia teaching ability of the teacher , information technology ability of the teacher and the educational technique ability . The autor investigates teachers' multimedia teaching faculty in Shanxi Normal university. and discovers that teacher's multimedia teaching ability need to be enhanced. Lastly The author proposes the corresponding strategies which are to improve the teacher's multimedia teaching faculty.The Study of College Teachers' multimedia teaching ability has a practical significance, it is a pity that the scope of samples is small, so the conclusion is difficult to be expanded. The autor will continue to research the subject, expand the scope of samples, Practice and improve the strategy.
