The study purports to understand situations related to the teachers' leading role in junior middle schools located in Hebi city,and investigates the factors which influence the teachers' leading role,including different school type,different grade,and different subject. The researcher collects interrelated material through questionnaire and interview.The study samples were drawn from 4 junior middle schools in the area.A total of 600 questionnaires were sent out and 582 valid responses were received.The results analyzed from data are as follows:1.As a whole,the degree of teachers' leading role is in a high level,and the average score of teachers' dominant is 3.92.2.The effects of teachers' leading role in key junior middle schools are much higher than in regular middle school,and the difference is significant.3.The effects of teachers' leading role in grade 8 are much more higher than the effects in grade 9.4.The degree of teachers' leading role differs between two different genders.For example,the same teacher plays a more important leading role for school boy,comparing with school girls.5.The liberal art teachers' leading role is much more higher than the science teachers' leading role,and the difference is significant.In order to promoting the teachers playing a more important role,the researcher puts forward certain strategies which involve teachers,the school leaders and related education institutions on the base of results and discussions.
