From the angle of teaching,literature consultation,interview, questionnaire investigation,logical analysis and data statistics were mainly applied to analyze and study the current situation of Wushu teaching in Wenzhou middle schools.Based on the analysis,some corresponding measures were put forward as well.The purpose of this study is to offer the references for making Wushu teaching developing better in middle school physical education in Wenzhou,a coastal city in which the economy is developed,making the students grasp the technique of Wushu,and meanwhile,really transferring Chinese excellent traditional culture and national spirit to middle school students by Wushu teaching.It was shown that:1.The leaders engaged in physic and health had enough understanding of Wushu,but they are lack of practical operations.2.In the 23 middle schools,which are analyzed, there are only 7 schools had over 30%students who had Wushu course.The number of schools that had not introduced Wushu course is 10.There are short of innovations in subject matters,teaching contents and teaching methods.Physical Education(and Health) Curriculum Standards presented have both advantageous and disadvantageous affections on Wushu teaching.3.There are 88.5%physical education teachers have studied Wushu when in university,and 84.4%physical education teachers have not had any trainings on Wushu.They prefer to choose other physical education courses rather than have Wushu event.4.Wushu is the eighth one in popular physical education courses with students,which is after football,basketball,badminton,table tennis, games,swimming and taekwondo.Boys prefer practical Wushu,but girls like Wushu for entertainments and sports further.5.82.4%student's parents can understand Wushu fully and objectively,72.8%student's parents believe that it is necessary to introduce Wushu in middle school.The results were as follows:1.Education department,local department and some middle school related leaders engaged in physic and health had enough understanding on Wushu,but they hadn't paid more attention to Wushu in practice.2.The whole Wushu teaching in middle schools in Wenzhou was in poor situation.3.The poor foundation of Wushu of physical education teachers was the factor that affecting the Wushu teaching.The technique level of Wushu of physical education teachers was not the decisive factor that affecting Wushu teaching better or not.4.The interest of Wushu of students was not the main factor that affecting the Wushu teaching better or not.The main reason about the students liking Wushu is that the function of defensive and health building of Wushu.5.Most of parents had a general and objective understanding on Wushu and supported students to choose Wushu subject in middle school.Based on these above,some methods were put forward as well:1.Leading policy should be strengthened.2.Improve skill and theory knowledge of physical education teachers on wushu.3.Stress the development of Wushu textbook of middle school.
