A principal of the middle school is in the center position,the leading position ang policy-making position in the school management system.A pricipal leads the derection of a school,carries out the educational policy,educates the teachers and the students,harmonizes the interpersonal relationships and manages all kinds of school work.In a way,the quality of a principal determines on a school level.Building a high-quality principal team is an important fator which decides whether the educational policy and the quality education can be carried out or not.lt is also a strategic task which relates to the success or failure for our education. Because of the importance of a principal,the writer went to a successful middle school and studied the principal deeply by the method of case analysis.The writer collected,arranged and analyzed some materials of some observations and arranged and interviews in order to find out the quality features which a successful principal has.During the research,the writer kept on learning more about the principal' s thought and tried to find out the reasons.Because of the co-opertion and participation with the writer,the principal also had a self-examination course.It is a good way to improve a principal quality.This article is made up of five parts.In the frist part,that is,preface,the writer analyzed the studying background the choosing of studying methods,the material collecting and the dealing with material.The writer also summarized the principal' s quality and introspected the studying process.In the second part,the writer explained the theoretical basis about a principal quality which invilves quality theory and the professional theory.The third part is the main part of the article.It recorded the observation and interview with the principal.And describe the principal' s story.In the fourth part,the writer analyzed and studied the principal' s quality and tried to find out the growth facts of the principal.The fifth part is about seeking to find the principal' s professional quality and developing.The meaning of this case is that the writer tried to use the fact and evidence research method to study the problem about the principal quality.And provided a new view of the principal quality research.The writer hopes to enrich the thory frame and make a contribution to improving the principal' s profession level.At the same time,the writer tried to find out the effective methods to train the principals according to the research.The writer also wanted the relative department to pay more attention to the principal quality and then make sure to develop the education level of the middle school.
