Student counselors'main task is political education for college students, need to guide college students to form a correct philosophy about the word life, at the same time guide students to develop good psychological quality and good character, and enhance their living capacity. Their work relates to moral education and day-to-day affairs, the establishing of private colleges and the changes of socio-economic types, and consideration to the characteristics of private college students, it is necessary to strengthen the management of students. How to improve the overall competence of counselors, to strengthen college counselors'performance management, is an important issue for ideological and political education work.Thoughts and method of performance management have been widely applied to various areas. With the emergence of the knowledge-based economy, the competition among organizations is gradually transformed into a competition of talents. As a base for the growth and development of students, colleges bring together many intellectuals. So it is of great significance to set up and improve the college counselor's performance management system for ideological education on college students and enhancing the work of counselors.This dissertation focuses on the performance management system of counselors in CS College. Firstly the author got key performance indices (KPI) based on diagnosis of the former system and job analysis. Then this KPI system is weighted by analytic hierarchy process (AHP). Finally a complete performance management system is designed for counselors.The dissertation is divided into five chapters. The first chapter states the background and method of the research. The second Chapter consists of a literature review of performance management theory. The third chapter discusses the counselor system development, as well as Vocational College counselor's job characteristics and points out the deficiencies existing in the performance management of counselors in CS College. The fourth chapter develops KPI system of the counselor through job analysis and analytic hierarchy process and designs a counselors'performance management system for CS College. The fifth chapter summarizes the limitation of this dissertation and gives advices to future research.
