This paper studies the obstacles which Korean companies operating in China confront in communication. It examines these obstacles from the viewpoint of the internal factors of the companies, of the language factors and of the cultural factor, and then attempts to come up with ideas to clear up the hindrances in communication. For the past 16 years ever since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Republic of Korea and China, nearly 40,000 Korean companies are operating and around 700,000 South Koreans are living in China. After 2008 Beijing Olympics and 2010 Shanghai EXPO, the number of Korean companies and Korean residents is expected to increase rapidly. It is significantly important for a Korean company running in China to maintain smooth communication among the members of the company and to understand mutual cultural background, when the company seeks for successful business activities. The main hindrances in communication within the companies are found in the management system, lack of preparation and lack of underst anding the Chinese and Korean languages and cultures.
