This researching study focuses on the interpreted words of the Chinese writings in classicalstyle in "the Normal Senior School Curriculum Standard Experimental Textbook ChineseLanguage (compulsory) published by Jiangsu Education Publishing House"(hereinafterreferred to as the "JEPH Edition"). The JEPH textbooks as one of the most popular Chineselanguage teaching material for middle schools are widely used in China. The Chineselanguage teaching material system built by JEPH textbooks system is based on the basicconcepts of Chinese Curriculum Standard, which is entirely new and authoritative. Theinterpreted words in the textbooks of middle schools are the typical materials on the study ofmiddle school Chinese Vocabularies. Analysising of interpreted vocabulary can not onlyimprove the structure of teaching materials, to make it more scientificly serve for teaching,but is also a kind of promoting and facilitating the subjective researching on the wordsthemselves, which deepens the understanding of vocabulary and acknowledging, and helpsstudents to strengthen the understanding and using of Chinese words and text. Therefore, thestudy of interpreted words is very necessary. This thesis, only taking the Chinese LanguageTextbooks (compulsory courses) of JEPH the fifth edition in2008as the reaserching objectsof interpreted words, absorbing and drawing lessons from predecessors’ experience, withlexicology, lexical semantics, language motivation study, critical interpretation of ancienttexts and related theories as the instructions, analysis vocabulary system of interpreted wordsfrom internal form, semantic system of interpreted words from the perspective of the sense ofwords, the motivation of single words and compound words according to the languagemotivation theory, in order to do more in-depth and systematic study. The main purpose ofthis thesis, based on ancient Chinese lexicology, reference to lexical semantics, languagemotivation study and relevant theoies of linguistics, is to discuss the scientific and systematicprinciples of interpreted word choosing in textbooks so as to provide feasible suggestions forteaching material compiling in the future. The first chapter, the exordium part, mainly introduces the status quo and reviews, theresearch content, research value and significance, research approaches and research methodsof domestic and foreign related to this subject.The second chapter, firstly describes the basic features of vocabulary on the interpretedwords of the Chinese writings in classical style. Secondly is to do monographic study onvocabulary of the interpreted words of the Chinese writings in classical style. Mainly from thefollowing five aspects, examples of synonyms, examples of antonyms, examples of cognatecharacters, examples of the motivation of single words and compound words, examples ofLianMian Words(Chinese words consisting of two characters).The third chapter, summarizes the relationship between the vocabulary of the interpretedwords of the Chinese writings in classical style and teaching in senior schools from threeaspects, the systematicness of vocabulary, the systematicness of semantics, the motivation ofword.
