The Status Of Social Workers, Team Building, Problem And Countermeasure Study

Social work, as essential "lubricant" or "safety valve" to modern civilization, plays an important role in preventing and resolving social problems, maintaining social stability and promoting social harmony and advancement. But compared with Western countries, China has just an initial starting in training social workers and even such kind of social work has not been understood broadly by the whole society. There is a big gap between our current teams and the society's actual needs in the personnel numbers, competence and quality, therefore how to strengthen and build social worker teams has become an urgent task.This paper, taking Pudong New Area as a case, introduces current status of social workers team-building and deeply analyzes the reasons that restrict social workers team construction and development from different point of view in organizational management, social organization development, social work professionalism and social status of social workers. It also puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions to vigorously promote social worker team-building based on professionalism, specialization, socialization, and institutionalization.
