China And The United States National Defense Education Comparative Study

National defense education in American colleges and universities, with its high level and rich practice, has a lot of methods and experiences reflecting contemporary national defense education. National defense education in our Chinese colleges and universities started out early. However, facing some new challenges, such as military affairs innovation and information warfare, it still has a lot of problems against the socialist market economy background. By making a comparative study of national defense education between American and Chinese colleges and universities, we can learn from and develop our national defense education, and this is significant both in theory and in practice.At first, this thesis introduces the state of national defense education in American and Chinese colleges and universities. It can be divided into two parts: First of all, it gives a brief introduction of national defense education in American colleges and universities and its characteristics. Secondly, it analyzes the historical development and current status of national defense education in Chinese colleges and universities and discloses its main problems. Based on the above two aspects, it discusses the main differences of national defense education between American and Chinese colleges and universities from the status and the role of national defense education in colleges and universities, its legislation work, system designing , organization and implement, etc. Learning from the main differences, it offers the main clue to innovate the national defense education in our Chinese colleges and universities: Put national defense education in colleges and universities in a strategic position of keeping the national interest; Integrate national defense education into colleges and universities to the building of our national defense reserves; Establish national defense educational system in colleges and universities adapting to the market economy; Attach great importance to the building of teachers of national defense education.
