Research On National Defense Education In Colleges And Universities In The New Era

It is an important part of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era to carry out comprehensive national defense education and build strength for the realization of the Chinese Dream and the dream of building a strong military.The world is undergoing profound changes unseen in a century,and the competition among countries around the world is becoming fiercer.The environment facing China’s national defense will become more complex.National defense education in colleges and universities is a national defense education activity for college students in order to carry out the military strategic guideline of the new era and the overall national security concept,centering on the fundamental task of cultivating people by virtue and the fundamental goal of strengthening the army.It is not only an important measure and support to implement national defense education for the whole people,but also an urgent requirement to actively deal with various security risks and challenges and improve the effectiveness of national defense education in colleges and universities to deeply study national defense education in colleges and universities,comprehensively grasp the educational status quo,explore the causes and seek countermeasures.After years of active exploration and development,national defense education in China’s colleges and universities has gradually embarked on the road of systematization and normalization.At present,the content of national defense education in ordinary colleges and universities has been continuously enriched,and the education management has been continuously promoted.A teaching system featuring military theory teaching,military training teaching and regular national defense education has been gradually formed,and the effectiveness of national defense education has been improved.However,due to the uneven degree of attention paid to national defense education by ordinary colleges and universities,and the great room for improvement in the implementation of relevant education systems,there are still problems in national defense education,such as the lack of meticulous education management and the lack of effectiveness of education.National defense education in colleges and universities in the new era must take moral education as the center and give full play to the educational attributes of national defense education.First,we will improve and implement the system of national defense education.Promote the construction of teaching materials,establish a military instructor training and assessment system,establish and improve relevant guarantee norms,and form a new pattern of "teaching,training and implementation in accordance with law" to make a good top-level design for the implementation of national defense education.Secondly,we should construct and perfect the management mechanism of national defense education.Adhere to the teaching goal of cultivating people by virtue,clearly define the status and role of national defense education in regular colleges and universities,further standardize the subordinate relationship of national defense teaching institutions,strengthen the building of teachers,and earnestly regard national defense education as an important part of regular colleges and universities.Finally,the content and form of national defense education should be innovated.By strengthening the construction of military theory courses,strict military training management,and improving the assessment system of national defense skills,the functions of national defense education should be explored vigorously,so as to arouse college students’ interest in national defense education courses,and give full play to the national defense education attributes and comprehensive education functions.
