Today curriculum reform prompts allround reforms on basic education in China. Textbooks reform is the keywords in curriculum reform, so it is very important to study the development of textbooks and summarise experiences for compiling more excellent ideological and political textbooks.With the view of curriculum reform, textbooks have always been highlighted. The development of textbooks usually goes hand in hand with social development. Nowadays ideological and political textbooks shall find their own ways to adapt to the demand of new century. To analyze and summarize the development of ideological and political textbooks, we can improve on the construction of textbooks. It is also benefit to politics teachers to catch on the concept of new course.This paper based on 3 sets of different version by PEP since 1992, has adopt literature analytic approach, survey study and case analytic approach to focus on the research as follows:First, the paper compares the theoretical basis of 3different versions (They are"the Full-time Middle School Ideological& Political Program of Instruction by the State Educational Committee in 1992, the Full-time Ordinary Senior High School Ideological& Political Curriculum Standards by the State Educational Committee in 1996, Ordinary Senior High School Ideological& Political Curriculum Standards by the Ministry of Education in 2004) , then compares the 3 different ideological and political textbooks guided by the above mentioned teaching syllabus or standards to find how the new textbooks carry out the thoughts of new curriculum. Second, a survey has been conducted to the teachers in part area of Beingjing to understand the teachers'attitudes towards the new textbooks. Finally, the paper brings forward four thoughts about the reform on ideological and political textbooks.
