The Type Of Moral Internalization

This thesis is divided into four chapters. The first chapter introduces the topic. A summary of current moral internalization study is given, finding there is insufficient study on"what should be internalized"and the research of"how to internalize"is not abundant. To solve this problem, we need further research according to several moral internalization types.The second chapter expounds what should be internalized. Firstly, this research transfers from moral itself to moral motivation, and holds that same moral behaviors may have different moral motivations. Secondly, from the viewpoint of psychology and history of ethics, this study holds that moral motivation has three basic elements, authority, attachment and rationality, and should be held any moral man, but they may have different proportion of them. Finally, by analyzing the relationship between internalization of specific moral items and internalization of moral basic elements, this research holds that the former is the basis of the latter, and the latter can promote the former.The third chapter expounds the types of moral internalization. Firstly, the meaning of moral internalization is put forward. Secondly, internalization of authority is transfers the power of the authority from outside to inside, and its mechanism is rewards and punishment, during which the sense of awe plays a key role.Internalization of attachment is the transition of self-attachment to social groups, and its mechanism is expanding your scope of attachment, in which the sense of belonging plays a key role. Internalization of rationality is process of transferring individual rationality to public rationality, and its mechanism is understanding the reason and promoting the moral judgment ability, in which the sense of justice plays a key role. Based on above, some reflections are given on "the bank of moral", "the campus is my family", and "the moral debate" respectively.The fourth chapter expounds the relationship of these three types of moral internalization. From the perspective of individual, psychological characteristics affect the orientation of moral internalization. From the perspective of society, social state of moral also affects the orientation of moral internalization. For children, a certain order exists in these three kinds of moral internalization; for adults, these three kinds promote to each other.
