Teachers defend their interests only by their own strength when their rights have been violated,which often seems weak and makes success difficultly. However, in foreign countries, protecting the interests of teachers are mostly rely on groups. In the United States, teacher professional organizations are the representative of such groups.In this dissertation, through the analysis about the National Education Association of the United States's (NEA) and the American Federation of Teachers's (AFT) activities for protecting the interests of teachers, I hope to provide useful help to our country's related activities .In terms of structure, the whole dissertation mainly consists of four chapters. Chapter one introduces the history of NEA's and AFT's activities for protecting the interests of teachers; Chapter two ,in terms of the political philosophy, legal provisions, local governance mode and the relationship, analyzes the social environment of NEA's and AFT's related activities .Chapter three describes the NEA's and AFT's activities of a variety of ways, summarizes the characteristics of the activities and evaluation of these activities; Chapter four introduces the 2000 Philadelphia teacher strikes and analysis on this strike . In addition, adding a chapter to discuss how to protect the interests of Chinese teachers better.Through the above chapters, under the influence of the United States constitution culture, the characteristics of such activities is first to develop a good basic rules of the game, and then full introduction of competition. American teachers' professional organizations played a twofold role in such a competitive atmosphere: On the one hand, it promotes the exchange of information , having a appropriate response between the teacher's request and the requirements of educational administrative departments; On the other hand, it is actively involved in the distribution of educational resources, making the distribution of education resources with a more targeted aim.
