Compared with the same age youth,seniors possess high IQ,high culture and high character quality,also shoulder high expectations from the social, family and themselves,but for the lack of scientific knowledge and positive-negative experience of self-growth,when face many challenges, they are vulnerable to psychological stress.With the growing competition for jobs, the employment pressure has increasingly become the head of the seniors'pressures. To understand the current situation of seniors'employment pressure and its effect on seniors,this study based on previous studies, selected six universities's seniors in Xi'an, through a series of stages,including 42 people's interview,the item analysis for original questionnaire with 370 sample data, the exploratory factor analysis for preliminary questionnaire and confirmatory factor analysis for formal questionnaire with 1636 sample data,to finally establish the reasonable model of employment pressure of seniors.This study further employment the questionnaire,including Employment Stress of Seniors, Hardiness Scale,State-Trait Anxiety Inventory,Self-Rating Depression,to investigate 554 seniors of five universities in Xi'an.The aim is to understand the current situation and the characteristics of seniors'employment pressure,explore the relationship between employment pressure,hardiness and emotional reactivity,and also hope to provide guidance reference for seniors alleviating their employment pressure and college career guidance sector's work.The main results of this study are as follow:(1) The Employment Stress of Seniors is formed of four dimensions like conditions pressure of employment,quality pressure of employment,capability pressure of employment and environmental pressure of employment.The questionnaire was found to have acceptable reliability and validity,and can be used to measure employment pressure.(2) The whole employment pressure of seniors is below middle-class.The effect order of four dimensions are conditions pressure of employment, environmental pressure of employment, capability pressure of employment, quality pressure of employment.(3) The performance characteristics of employment pressure with different categories seniors:quality pressure of employment and environmental pressure of employment have significant gender difference;party member and non-party member shows significant difference on whole employment pressure, quality pressure of employment, capability pressure of employment and environmental pressure of employment;the different home town shows significant difference on whole employment pressure, conditions pressure of employment and environmental pressure of employment;sign up and non-sign up shows significant difference on employment pressure.The performance characteristics of hardiness with different categories seniors:commitment have significant gender difference;arts and science shows significant difference on challenge.The performance characteristics of emotional reactivity with different categories seniors:party member and non-party member shows significant difference on trait anxiety and depression;the different home town shows significant difference on state anxiety; sign up and non-sign up shows significant difference on state anxiety and trait anxiety.(4) The relationship between employment pressure and emotional reactivity:employment pressure is positively associated with state anxiety and trait anxiety; employment pressure and its dimensions have direct prediction function on state anxiety and trait anxiety.(5) The relationship between hardiness and emotional reactivity:employment pressure is negatively associated with state anxiety and trait anxiety; hardiness and its dimensions have direct prediction function on state anxiety and trait anxiety.Hardiness and its dimensions were moderators between employment stress and emotional reactivity,which can relieve emotional reactivity (anxiety and depression) induced by employment stress.
