A Study On The Integration Of Medical Insurance System In Urban And Rural Areas

The reform of basic medical insurance system of China has never stopped, nowadays it focuses on the innovation of the system and institutional mechanisms.At present, China’s medical insurance system consists of medical insurance for urban workers, medical insurance for urban residents, the new rural cooperative medical care and social medical aid system, and the whole system is faced with a series of serious problems, such as the low-effective coverage, the narrow range of medical and health services, the low level of medical care, the heavy burden for citizens.The convergence and integration of urban and rural residents in health insurance system will complete the health care system, improve social equity and enhance the efficiency of management.Several parts of China have completed the convergence and integration of the medical insurance system for urban and rural residents, which has a positive role in guiding other cities.By the study of the practices of the convergence and integration of the medical insurance system for urban and rural residents,this paper classifies the models of the practices, finds out the main problems during the process, such as there is no thorough design of the convergence and integration of the medical insurance system for urban and rural residents, the operation mechanism of the medical insurance system for urban and rural residents after the convergence and integration is not perfect.Then this paper puts forward the countermeasures, hoping that these problems can be solved reasonably to the harmonious development of urban and rural areas.
