Research On Yunnan - Thailand Cooperation Based On GMS

The GMS is the Greater Mekong sub-regional cooperation mechanisms, including two provinces of China:Yunnan and Guangxi, and 5 Southeast Asian countries:Thailand, Vietnam, Kampuchea, Laos, Burma, which is also called " Economic and Trade Cooperation Organization in the six countries ", whose main aim and purpose is to advance the economical and social development of the sub regions, so that the regions achieve prosperous and steady. This sub regional cooperation conforms to the development trend of the times, which is the product of economic globalization and regional economic integration development, Chinese has been committed to the principle of mutual benefit and reciprocity relation to develop friendly negotiation with other countries, and therefore attach great importance to and actively participated in this sub regional economic cooperation. Thailand as a Southeast Asia country--one of the most developed countries, is willing to cooperate with Chinese and neighboring countries, is also one of the Chinese biggest trading partners, Yunnan province is the closed region to Thailand, which provides the location advantage for bilateral cooperation, and has influence the bilateral cooperation on their own and regional economic cooperation development greatly.This paper is in the framework of GMS cooperation, expounds the general situation of cooperation and its impact on Thailand and Yunnan Province, and introduced the present situation and features of bilateral development of Yunnan and Thailand under this big background. At the same time, it focus on the main cooperation areas of Yunnan and Thailand since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1975, compare the specific performance in agricultural products, tourism, transportation, logistics, infrastructure, energy, electronics, auto parts and so on. And among these aspects, this paper focuses on the research and Analysis on the agricultural products, the use of a regression analysis in Econometrics and the first order difference empirical method, a specific study of Yunnan agricultural products to promote the bilateral economic growth in Thailand import and export trade, to other areas of cooperation such as tourism, logistics, education, energy cooperation is studied, the bilateral in these areas of the achievements and challenges and issues of inquiry. Finally, for all the problems in the process of Yunnan and Thailand cooperation, here put forward the relevant countermeasures and suggestions, to make a prospect to the development and future trend of Yunnan Thailand relations.
