In the 21st century, human society entered the era of knowledge economy, human resource is the fundamental for business, has become the first resource in the survival and development of enterprises. The competition of talents is the key to the competition among enterprises. An important part of the socialist market economy is the non-public ownership economy. It plays an important role in the development of our society and economy. So we have always attached importance to the guidance of the non-public economy, and formulated many policies to support the development of non-public economy. An important part of the non-public economy is the private enterprise, the small and medium private enterprises are the powerful driving force to promote the rapid economic growth, and the development of the national economy is becoming more and more important. However, due to various reasons, the development of small and medium sized private enterprises is greatly influenced by human resource management. It is urgent to find out the problems and causes of human resource management, and put forward the corresponding countermeasures. Therefore, strengthening the research of human resource management is of great significance to the sustainable development of small and medium sized private enterprises and social stability.The thesis using the research method of literature analysis method, interview method, questionnaire survey method and Statistics analysis method, first defined the related basic concept, explained the basic theory of human resources management in this thesis; Second, in the form of a questionnaire survey on part of the small and medium-sized private enterprises human resource management in Kunming, through the analysis of survey questionnaire, combined interview results, analysis the exists problems and the reasons of human resources management for small and medium private enterprise in Kunming; last, according to the optimization problem and reason of small and medium private enterprise, proposed the suggestions of human resources management.
