With the development of Chinese economy, a large number of exhibition halls had been built around China especially less economically important cities. More and more exhibitions and conferences been held in China. The number of exhibitions and conferences increased year by year, and the scales of those exhibitions and conference been enlarged year by year also. It is much closer between China and foreign countries on communication and cooperation of international exhibitions and conferences. Foreign exhibition groups and companies made more investment in China and co-held events with Chinese exhibition groups and companies. In April 2015 the State Council issued the "several opinions on further promoting the development of exhibition industry ". This is the first time that the State Council proposed the strategic objectives and major tasks for the development of the exhibition industry. The exhibition industry is regarded as a barometer of macroeconomic development. The function of exhibition industry for pulling economic development has gradually been accepted, but here comes the potential problems. The Chinese Exhibition industry is still very far away from that of development countries on exhibition and conference organizing. Germany is the most famous and outstanding country of exhibition and conference organizing. Two-thirds of world famous international trade shows and exhibitions had been held in Germany. On exhibition management mode Germany has the well-constructed exhibition center with perfect infrastructures. They have the professional services, well-organized onsite supports, and the effective sales and marketing ways. None of that would we compare with them. With analyzing and comparing Chinese and Germany’s management modes of exhibition, this thesis would like to get the difference and disparity between Chinese and Germany and try to find the shortcoming of Chinese exhibition industry and learn from the Germany to contribute to Chinese exhibition industry’s development.There are five parts of the article:reference review, theoretical basis, case study, conclusion and inspiration. Part one introduces the background and meaning of this article, studying method and guideline and related researches. Part two set forth the definition upon the exhibition, exhibition economy as well as exhibition industry. Part three also the most important part focuses on the case study of both Germany and Chinese exhibitions. Researched the history and the characteristics of them and compared them according to nine aspects of exhibition management. Part Four makes a conclusion of what we could learn from Germany and how to improve the management of Chinese exhibition.
