Causes And Control Of Traffic Congestion In Yinchuan City

At present, along with the rapid development of social economy, the improvement of people’s living standards, urban cars have becoming popular in the general public, due to traveling by private cars are convenient, fast, comfortable and high degree, more and more people choose private car to travel. Increasing with vehicles bring a lot of problems, such as road traffic congestion, the waste of time, environmental pollution, high transaction costs and other unfavorable factors. These negative factors directly restrict the economic and social development. This paper mainly takes Yinchuan city of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region as an example; the author would discuss and analyze the causes of the traffic congestion in Yinchuan City, in addition to putting forward some pertinent measures to control the actual situation of Yinchuan city.This paper is based on the author with accumulating nearly 6 years of experience in the traffic control work, via Yinchuan city’s actual traffic congestion situation,through field investigation, literature study and comparative research methods, in order to analyzing the deep-seated reasons of traffic jams in Yinchuan City.Concluding from five aspects, namely factors of urban planning, road traffic management, public traffic service factors, participants in the traffic factors and unexpected traffic incident factors, in addition to putting of strategies aimed at causes of existence. As mentioned above, they are paying full attention to the development of road traffic urban planning, the enhance of road traffic management, the priority development to the development of public transport, strengthen the quality of traffic participants’education and the augment of traffic emergency responsive measures, in order to solving the traffic congestion problems of Yinchuan city.
