Research On China 's Free Trade Area Strategy Under "One Way" Initiative

The Fifth Plenum of the 18 th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China reiterated the need to accelerate the implementation of FTA strategy,after "B&R" initiative proposed by XI Jinping in 2013. In the context of "B&R" initiative, the importance of FTA strategy was enhanced constantly. On the basis of reviewing FTA developing process, motivation and barriers, the paper analyze the internal agent and potential barriers of FTA strategy after the proposition of "B&R" initiative, and put forward targeted countermeasures and proposals.The paper basically consists of introduction and four main parts. Firstly, through analyzing the context, process and newly development of "B&R" initiative, the paper point out transformation basis and direction of FTA strategy. Secondly, the paper reviews the achievement and motivation of FTA, takes the development of FTA strategy as the result of combined action of international and national. Thirdly, the paper analyzes the difficulties encountered during building process of FTA and potential challenges in the future, considers the appearing of economic barriers and political barriers independently or together will increase uncertainties of our future FTA strategy. Lastly, the paper puts forward countermeasures and proposals targeting on strategy goals, principle and process, which are important content of FTA strategy.
