During the visit to the Central Asia in September 2013, Chinese President Xi Jinping for the first time proposed the great conception of building “Silk Road Economic Belt”, lying in the Eurasian continent, which aims at reproducing the glories of ancient Silk Road, realizing the national rejuvenation, forming a community of responsibility, interests, and common destiny between China and its western neighbors, and ultimately realizing the strategic planning of mutual benefit and win-win results. As the first site abroad, the Central Asia is the key to success. Working together to build "Silk Road Economic Belt", China and Central Asia own many comparative advantages for cooperation, such as close geographical location, a long history of cooperation, close contacts in recent years, relying on the Shanghai Cooperation Organization(SCO) as a platform for cooperation and so on. Meanwhile, there are some problems that can not be ignored, such as political and regional security risk, poor investment environment of Central Asian countries, and complex relations between them. Besides, interference from Russia, the United States and other external forces is not avoidable. Therefore, it is of great practical significance to research on how to fully tap the potential of Central Asian countries to promote the construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt.
