With the increasing information globalization, the boundary between countries becomes less and less obvious. Chinese firms will have to compete for resources such as market, raw material, and labors in the world after join WTO, and the knowledge workers will become the focus of these resources. The study of how to motivate knowledge workers has become a problem that should be solved as soon as we can.Began from last century, the scientists in administrations realized the role of motivation in the human resource management. They have done a lot of investigations and achieved a lot of results. Thus, recently, many researchers and administrators devoted a lot in the theoretical studies in the motivation system. However, until now, there is still no systematic theory on how to motivate the knowledge workers. Thus, this study is foreseeing in practice too.Motivating the knowledge workers is a complicated systematic project. The paper focused on the subject of how to motivate the knowledge workers, used the methods of the previous researcher's provided, and referred to the existing problems in the motivating the knowledge workers in the business, based on the many years practices on human resources administrations and the surveys of the demand of the knowledge worker, started from defining the knowledge workers and identifying their features, through investigations on their characteristics of emotional, working behaviors, demands, studied how to build a specific motivation system for the knowledge workers to achieve their loyalty to the firms, and increase the competitive power and succeeding development ability, and realize the "win-win" situation between the firm and the professional knowledge workers, that is, to reach the maximum value of private and the firm simultaneously.The awarding system, established in this study, has been applied in the human resources administration by the author's practice, and has been proved has positive outcomes. So, this system is possible both in theory and practice. Also, the author also notifies the problems might exist during practice, to help the firms obtain more outcomes from this system.
