Competition and development is the theme for the enterprises in the 21st century. In order to survive and develop under supply chain management, the enterprises focus on the cultivation and development of its core business. It is essential for them to procure resources from outside, and so it is very important to select the right suppliers. To the core enterprise in the supply chain, as the corpus of the chain, its materials mainly depend on outside purchasing. The supplier selection will directly affect its product quality, delivery, lead-time, inventory level, product design and so on, so will do it its position in the supply chain and harmonious development of the supply chain . As a key sector in the supply chain system, the importance of the supplier gets more and more obvious. From the angle of gaining long-term competition advantage, the management to the up-stream suppliers relies on the correct evaluation and selection and building up a long-term partnership. The thesis will make a further study on the related problems to the core enterprise supplier selection.First, the thesis introduces the basic concept of the core enterprise and the conditions for being a core enterprise, analyzes its roles in the supply chain, and then summarizes its identification criteria. Chapter 3 introduces the concept of supply chain partnership, analyzes the types of the suppliers under supply chain management, points out the relationship between the core enterprise and suppliers, illustrates the steps to build up such a relationship and the factors that limit it, analyzes the relationship risks and points out the countermeasures for avoiding them.Chapter 4 emphasizes the supplier selection problem, introduces the system of comprehensive evaluation indexes and two-step selection system. Because of the defects of the traditional methods ,the thesis improves them and sets up a two-stepsystem integrated evaluation model based on DelphL AHP> and grey system theory to guide the supplier selection of the core enterprise. Chapter 5 applies the model to an iron & steel enterprise domestic iron mineral supplier selection .introduces the detailed evaluation steps, then selects some best suppliers for cost analysis so as to work out their procurement quantity.In summary, the thesis mainly discusses the core enterprise identification, the relationship between the core enterprise and the suppliers, gives priority to the study of core enterprise supplier selection by building up an integrated model. All of these can provide basis and reference for the core enterprise to decrease the risk and procurement cost, which will consolidate the core status of the core enterprise in the supply chain and improve the harmonious development of the whole supply chain.By Cheng Tie (Transportation Planning & Management)Directed by Professor Hou Ronqhua...
